Observe the real work
Assess only work you personally watched. Note the task, the date, the conditions and whether the worker worked alone or with help.
One skill at a time
Judge each skill separately. Doing one door installation well does not automatically demonstrate structural framing.
Several meaningful tasks
Usually three to five meaningful observed tasks are needed before a skill is marked Demonstrated. Requirements may differ by skill.
